Do you like peanut butter? Do you like blueberries? Are you always hungry in the afternoon? Do you want to change your snacking habits? Less sugar more nutrition? Then here we go!!
This smoothie is simple and very quick with only two main ingredients plus water. And pssst… secret: also a great lift-me-up breakfast in the morning!!
Your very basic ingredients are:
And if you like some extras, like I do… Maca powder and maple syrup. And here is how:
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 – 1 cup water (depending on how liquid you like your smoothie)
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 2 tbsp almond butter
- 1/2 – 1 tbsp maple syrup (or more, depending on how sweet you like it)
- 1 tsp maca powder (a superfood that is know to give you a lot of energy!)
P.S: 1 cup = one small glass (about 2.3 dl)
Mix everything in your blender and enjoy. You can keep this beautiful smoothie in the fridge for a couple of days! Just looking at the colour it already makes me happy!! 🙂
If you want to go very basic and you don’t like peanut butter – go for almond butter. Please, please make sure your nutbutter really only contains 100% nuts!! Check the label. Don’t buy any rubbish. You don’t want any added fats (like palmoil) any salt or sugar in your nutbutter. You want only nuts.

- 4 tbsp almond butter
- 1/2 – 1 tbsp maple syrup
And the good news for Swiss people – almond butter, peanut butter and maple syrup are available in every bigger Migros from the Alnatura brand, organic certified. Frozen berries you find in any store. Maca powder – that one I always order online from Iswari, as I trust this brand. Of course, as we are slowly heading into spring, I encourage you to do some foraging or go to a market on the weekend and buy fresh Swiss berries. But for now (we just got 30cm of snow this morning) the frozen varieties have to do the job.
